I honestly...don't understand how you did it, but I had absolutely ZERO interest in Star Wars and such...now I am completely in love with your characters and want to make one, even though I know NOTHING about them...

Well if you ever feel like trying out the game SWTOR has a F2P dealie as well, though you're severely restricted in a lot of aspects from what I've heard.

Great characters, all are so unique! I'm a big fan of female characters who don't mind getting their knuckles bloody, Casphalla has an brilliant quote right there and Romal is simply adorable. Best of luck for that Animation course!

Wow this really really makes me want to do a SWTOR roleplay, I just started giving my toons a personality and backstory to influence their answers in game so this just gives me more fuel to find a good roleplayers.

Hooray for Sith Inquisitors! I adore my Sith Inquisitor, and I love your Laz'ab character. When I saw your first pic of him I was like "Omg one of my favorite artists from deviantart plays SWTOR? Yyeeesssssss."

Awww, Caphalla<3... She reminds me of my trooper, Mambas (I was in a candy-themed guild "Ooo, A Piece of Candy!")! Same exact look, except Mambas had black hair. Burn scar & cyborg parts are the same, though :} I miss her now!!!

Never did get to RP much in SWTOR. MIGHT have stayed a bit longer if I had, I bet. :/

Not that I think that's the only reason people do it, it can be enjoyable in a way (if you care for the characters, at least), but I do get the impression that some authors figure just adding dramatic elements like rape or cancer will automatically make it deep. And of course that's not how it works. :(

Definitely not, and what's worse is when they then try to use this "sad past" as a tool to whine about it to anyone who will listen. Thankfully, all my characters can easily shrug someone like that off. =D Smart-alecks are good for that!

Laz'ab has a crap-ton of physical and mental abuse in his past, including but not limited to starvation, beatings, whipping, and rape. But he doesn't dwell on it, and doesn't think about it; his past fuels his actions but if you bring it up he'll shove it down your throat and tell you to buzz off. It's happened a few times in roleplay that he laughs at the crybabies. "You don't like it but you TALK about it? Get a life, and get out of my sight" kind of attitude. That actually came from doing months of research watching serial killer documentaries; most are remorseless, and most have something wrong with them physically or mentally, or had a rocky upbringing. But you don't see them wailing to the world.

Yep. And for some it does help to talk about it, but with someone they already trust. I can't imagine telling someone I had just met about my tragic past if I had gone through something traumatic. o_O For one thing there ARE people who won't believe them or will mock them/blame them for getting themselves into the mess, so I imagine MOST victims would be hesitant to talk about it even if they wanted to. And if you wish to appear strong rather than pitiful, well...

Yay, research. :P If only I enjoyed doing that for other things than psychology as well.

Too many special snowflakes wanting to be special snowflakes. My most recent RP log uploaded to Tumblr involved Laz'ab confronting a Sith Acolyte (ranking below a Lord, and below even an Apprentice) who was one of those players who thinks his toon is just the bomb and can't do anything wrong. Thank god we were using the dice-rolling system to RP the fight sequence, or else it wouldn't have been over until I yielded defeat ... and Laz is a LORD with a few more years than him. The other guy even called a friend over to intervene who 1.) I hope to god only spoke English as a second language, because I had to meticulously decipher her garbled words for the log, 2.) kept talking and talking and using more words - and more confusing words - than she needed to, to try to appear "smart" and holier-than-thou, and 3.) was another little special snowflake who talked down her nose at others ... and she's also an Apprentice.

Generally SW lore dictates that when you run into a rogue Lord, you stfu and leave him the hell alone. Thank god I rolled two 20s.

But I digress. My point was: if your character is a badass toon, prove it, don't say it. The Acolytes RP was miserable; I wrote detailed descriptions, he retorted with one short line. Needless to say I won't be repeating the experience anytime soon.

Mm, the oranges you've chosen seem soft & muted enough. And I like the illusion of depth created by the various layers of art, color, & text.

Things only get eye-stabbing when a gal reads thirty stories in a row. And if she's that crazy, it's her fault, am I right?

Lovely <3 I fiercely enjoy your characters- hearing what's going on in their lives, or isn't, and seeing the visual representations and full out realized imagery that springs forth from the mind of Sak. It's a good novel I can't put down, so thank you for sharing! It inspires me to one day be less lazy and do something of the same...

Thanks very much dear! I'm sorry I'm not around as often as I should be. 8C This animation stuff is killing me - I'm still working on finalizing the storyboard and making a maquette (mini sculpt) of James as we speak. I'm behind in TOR stuff; I still want to do a short comic based on that time Val made both Lev and Beau blush to the tips of their lekku with innuendos.

XD That would be amazing! And I absolutely understand. I wish I was still working on my own degree (also, animation-- unfortunately my school dicked me over). For the small time I was there, I never had time to play. During Haunt season, I'm rarely around as well-- and once Jedi camp starts up.. well, you get the picture.

The boys need to catch up, sometime. Or... maybe I'll catch you up, actually. ;) If you're interested.

I draw all my toons slightly different than their in-game models, but then there's only so much TOR's character creator can do. The rest is up to artist imagination in order to get them across as I want others to see them accurately, whether that's by comics, pictures, or detailed roleplay.

Definitely. I've been the same way with my guys (who I wound up transferring over from City of Heroes when it closed....it's an interesting family tree now...) I know how they look in my head, and have done my best to bring them to life in SWTOR.

Once again, kudos on the awesomeness of your art!
