The Bigger the Pauldrons by Quarter-Virus The Bigger the Pauldrons by Quarter-Virus

WARNING: OLD ART!! The art and comments in this Deviation may no longer represent the artist's current views or interests.

As bad as some high-fantasy game armour can get, SWTOR still has some of the weirdest sets I've seen.

the larger your shoulder pads, the more powerful you are with the magical force of that universe.

Such is the virtual life of an MMO. Oversized pauldrons and the whole shebang that defy physics and somehow manage to stay on your shoulders without falling off or throwing the character off balance.

Seriously, though, I died at everyone's expressions in the last panel. :XD:

I've always wondered whether the end-game gear design is a plot by Republic moles, to be honest......victory through demoralisation.

Of course, it could always be a ploy by Imperial strategists - hope the Republic's too busy laughing to defend themselves.

Oh, Sith Shoulderpads. It's like the French aristocracy right before the Revolution. Style without the pesky constraints of logic or common sense.
Or subtle yet effective bribes from the Architects' and Remodelers' Guilds to the Fashionplate Consortium to convince the haute ton that their life wasn't complete without Giving the Shoulder Direct to their peers and minions, and thus necessitating the widening of doors Empire-wide.

Here here to that! SW:tOR does have some "interesting" ideas on armor sets... though the Gnome Heritage appearance armor on EQ2 comes in at a close second on my WTF scale. I'm still trying to decide if they're boots or buckets on the feet. Lol

Oh. My. God. I lost it when I saw poor Laz'ab's armor, I know this feeling though I have a warrior in Guild Wars 2 that has some huge pauldrons that I swear to god would be the unholy love child of Aezar' and Jaris's pauldrons, and I sit there and go 'a bit much'? I always cringed at the though of them shrugging but... Laz'ab how in the world would you go through a door? Sideways? Crab walking? The poor bloke... though I am sure he could turn around, rip those off, (Helm/hood/cowl thing too) and peg some people to the wall... I wouldn't put it past him...

And as always, I love your style, and the art, and your lovely gentleman, and sith lords... they always make my day better.

Yeah... SWtOR doesn't really have very good armor ideas. At least when it comes to the sets. Though thankfully, it's easy just to mismatch for RP purposes. x3
