Sympathy For The Devil Pg 01-02 by Quarter-Virus Sympathy For The Devil Pg 01-02 by Quarter-Virus

WARNING: OLD ART!! The art and comments in this Deviation may no longer represent the artist's current views or interests.

Pages 1 and 2 of a 12-page comic I drew at the end of last year as a filler to make up for my absence in SWTOR. Unfortunately, due to real life pressure, I've only just got around to colouring it now.

It delves into Laz'ab's condition--my psychotic Sith Inquisitor--from the perspectives of Doctor Azil'mort, his personal physician, and Caspira, an Imperial Agent tasked with making sure Laz doesn't suffer too many relapses of "The Murders".

Wow... so much detail in each panel! How long does it take you to put together a comic strip like this?

The outlining alone took hours, and this page took about two days of on-off coloring. The next two pages have more detail, as Laz'ab himself makes an appearance, so it's taking longer.

Man your RP comics make me want to finally get around to watching all of Star Wars so I get the world they're in better... And you need to sleep! It's important! But this is pot calling kettle here... I usually run on 4-6 hours a night.

now, i know your pirates and starwars, but i feel that this particular instance requires a bit of knowledge known to those of the classification of "Spider": With great power comes great responsibility. my version? great work only comes from too much work....

i know, it sucks, but i am working on a bunch of variants of that saying for multiple types of hobbies/careers. just a side project, no real reason why. but, i felt the need to try and inspire and help, though i am not a star wars person period, and i only know 2 things pirate related: PotC and your art...well, your James & Louis art....

idk, i just thought it would be nice to share that thought, cuz regardless what it is used for, that saying can be used in all sorts of situations....

STILL trying to find a proper version for artists, and i THINK i am getting close...

Oh man this is turning out so beautifully already, you've really outdone yourself here. Azil'mort looks absolutely fantastic, you've really managed to capture his age and his personality so well in the comic so far! I can't imagine where you find the time to work on this between the animations, but oooooohmyyyyygaaaaawd

So AMAZING AAAAEEEEEE!!!

I get so happy every time you upload something. I'm not that into Star Wars and the last thing I watched with it was those Family Guy episodes, but I really enjoy your art with it and it makes me want to maybe watch the movies again^^

I'm going up the walls because IE is being an ass at my website that we're supposed to get done for an exam and this... this just saved me (from deciding not showing up for tomorrow's continuation).

All that sarcasm. I must channel it somehow.

Love Azil'mort's facial expression in the first panel, even before reading his dialogue it's clear that he's not too happy about Caspira being there.

Wow!! You put so much detail into coloring :) Especially the background. Looks fantastic! And Azil'mort is ridiculously cross about breaking patient confidentiality xD I was surprised to learn the empire even had that (I think I read a similar rp if not the one this was based off of, where Caspira was apologizing).

That's what we love about Azil'mort, that he chooses to play a less overpowered character without becoming "weak", especially within a society that values strength and power to the point of mad obsession.

And Azil'mort seems to still has some sense of ethics, which must be nice in comparison to the abundance of more sinister and angsty characters!

*claws at the gorgeous colouring and details on the screen* Gggguuuuhhhhhhh. When you think about it, Laz'ab is slowly torturing you to death right now.... With this comic... Sorta. In a way.

As I made clear to you on plenty of ocassions, I absolutely adore this in every way possible. <3

The dialogue is very funny. It reminded me of my crazy doctor character. But I suppose all mad scientists are at least somewhat alike in personality. They have to be, after all, in order to do...whatever it is they do.

Ah, yes, I see now. It was that last sarcastic remark of "I would love to be privy to the spectacle of him slowly torturing someone to death" that confused me. Still, it's a great little comic. And I'm looking forward to Honor Among Thieves. Do you know when you'll be finished? :meow:

Yeah, it's a little difficult to tell, but I hoped the character dialogue would help get the voice intonations across.

The animation won't be anywhere near complete for a few months.

Oh he does slowly. As an official Imperial Interrogator he can make the sessions last for days if he wants, given he himself usually thrives on very little sleep as it is.

He'd be a poor interrogator if the victim died before he could get what he needed out of them, but the fact that that's an exaggerated, humorous comic aside, TOR also has advanced technology that could easily keep a person from dying until he extracted what he needed. The trick is getting them to talk in the first place.
