Actually Americans descend from British, so I think the idea is not that wrong.

Turns out the American poster was a ripoff a British poster, so you are correct!

We Brits had the Lord Kitchener poster (though I'm not sure which came first). I think Louis would just take this poster as an encouragement for mischief? And he will probably start collecting poster featuring his beloved commodore...they're probably aren't many poster left around port now! ^^ James looks very fearsome in this poster :P

I hope the good Commodore realizes that he'll need an extra tall gibbet for Louis. If not, the 'sudden stop' will simply be Captain Fab landing with his feet on the ground. ;)

I would love to see the graffiti that Louis would do to a poster like this (that is, if he doesn't gank it for the wall of his bedroom)

Sak, do you have any easy source for pirate lingo? More than for words, for the general syntax structure (like ye instead of you, or me instead of my)

Just garble your English and imagine you're constantly soaked with rum and see where that goes. My pirate syntax comes from whatever I've picked up from movies and literature, really.

OMG! i've been waiting for this! great job! 8D

although i think "a short drop and a silent stop" might flow a bit better; the word sudden seems kinda out of place to me. just a friendly suggestion please don't take offense. :)

"A short drop and a sudden stop" is a quote from Pirates of the Caribbean, referencing that pirates who got arrested would be hanged.

A funny thing to know, the British queen, enriched herself with the help of Buccaneers which where actually pirates, with British Navy training who attacked the Spanish ships coming from the new world filled with Riches. When this became no longer necessary, the buccaneers became obsolete and turned Pirate on everyone. So basically they created they're own problem.

I'm aware of that, in fact Louis and James's story is set in and around 1701 during the Queen Anne's War, which was 12 years of fighting that pitted the French/Spanish against the English/Dutch.

Which later became the paradigm where covert ops come biting them back in the backside(see Afghanistan 1979-2012; Stinger missiles for details)

The CIA actually had a chance. There were the prototypical fundamentalist factions, secular, and liberal factions fighting the Russians. They supplied and trained them all but gave priority to the first set of guys, since they were the most aggressive, even when it's clear they hate America from the outset and threw acid at the faces of women who don't cover their faces. Eventually less attention was given to the other two since they felt they were too independent.

Well I don't think it was a "bad choice" rather than a "hidden Agenda", If the CIA does something they think "LONGTERM".

Religious fanatics are thought of as "easy to control" and if you think of it in Nrs rather than human lives, they're right. There's always more of them dying in a war then there are actual victims in a terrorist attack. And every terrorist attack will always be retaliated(*) in some sort of skirmish or war, resulting in more of them dying. And off course the CIA does not think of "control" as being good lil' boys, no way, control means giving them some leeway so they can, in fact, engage in terrorist attacks, so the rest of the world will scream for revenge, so everything we do to them is "justified".

(*) retaliated meaning that this is the official reason so they don't have to tell the world they're stealing their riches.
