WARNING: OLD ART!! The art and comments in this Deviation may no longer represent the artist's current views or interests.

I'm not even kidding. I ran across this roleplay in EQII, right down to the dramatic self-pity and blood-for-tears.

You know... seeing artwork of this Everquest II character got me curious about this online game so I checked it out. I started playing just last night and I'm already level 7...

I'm not sure whether I should curse you or praise you...

Yep, pregnancy, blood tears, half breeds of opposing creatures, and so much more melodrama! All waiting for you in anything which hints at roleplaying where sad attention seeking people may be!

I used to run a chat roleplaying room and I cannot tell you how many women went into labor when they were ignored for more than .2 seconds. I also had the 'pleasure' of having a whiny half vampyr half angel in my room. COuldn't figure out if repentant vampyr or bad angel. Either way angel = light and vampyr + light = "Chim Chim Cheer-ee" youtu.be/te_Nv3lMUnA

One of the reasons I don't RP in EQ II anymore.

Careful over there, the vipers bite, hard.

Stay safe Sak! <3

When I first saw this I was like, "Why is Louis cosplaying as a vampire?" at the time I was only seeing the smaller icon on the main screen in my watchers box, you know the resolution on those, pretty bad. When I clicked on it I realized that the vampire was fremale, her hair was shorter, her skin was paler, and she wasn't wearing makeup. So the reason I'm telling you this is, do you think you could draw Louis in a vampire gettup for halloween or something? I'm not sure if it's something he'd do, but I think he'd look pretty good! I love your vampires from Everquest II and I love Honour Amongst Thieves!

Nice -w-

Have to admit, Anne Rice isn't that bad when its vampires. Nor is VladmirTodd, or even Vampire kisses, but if any Twilight is there, I'm out.

Right now, I can totally see this being Louis from Honour Among Thieves. Because the thumbnail in my messages made it look like him.

Oh god... I don't know why everyone hates on twilight when Louis is such a pathetic wuss -_- At least Meyer doesn't claim to be the be all end all of the vampire genre. She knows she's romantic drivel for entertainment purposes.

As long as she's aware. I still hold her responsible for an entire generation that grew up thinking Meyer invented vampires and werewolves, and that therefore they a.) have to sparkle, and b.) pull their shirts off all the time.

I don't mind RPing with people of all levels and styles of roleplay, just so long as they respect my wishes not to get sucked into some powerplay/godmodding. I find communication OOCly with the player is helpful sometimes, when meeting someone new. My vampire got stabbed in the chest with a stake by another player, but I didn't mind too much because we had spoken before. I always remind myself that I, too, used to be a beginner roleplayer, and while I was never this melodramatic, I imagine I was pretty crap back in the day.

Good points.  So rather I wish more RPers were better about communication, like you seem to be.  The staking sounds like it must have been a pretty awesome moment, definitely one that needed planning OOC though.

I definitely had fun. The way the character was macking on my toon made me afraid she was just out to get into his pants, until she cornered him and drove a stake through his ribcage, then dragged him deeper into her lair to play a game of "guess which of these bones belong to filthy Freebloods who don't know their place in Neriak". It was great for his IC development - he now has a nemesis (who is half-mad, and is convinced he's sexually interested in her), fled Neriak to become a citizen of Freeport, and now joined the ranks of the Knights of Freeport to prove his allegiance ... not to mention the perks of having them looking out for his best interests when she comes at him with a stake again.

Wow that really did turn out better than expected.  (When I used to try to RP it usually was the case that they were just trying to get into my character's pants, which I made plain OOC I wasn't comfortable RPing ;; )  How long did the story last past that?  Also what game/ setting was this?  (If you don't mind far too many questions)

I find OOC dialogue with the other player can be vital in establishing a good RP scenario, and especially speak up if their playing style is making you uncomfortable. I usually have my characters handle those sorts of situations themselves, but if the player is pushy you can always just end it, treat it like it never happened and leave.

Currently my vampire has an uneasy truce with said stabber, and even got her back by returning her flirtatious advances and then leaving her hanging. Personally he has no interest in her, but she seems determined to lure him back into her home. This is in Everquest II, and MMORPG.

Agreed.  The one success I've had with RPing has been with someone I spoke with a fair amount first and she's quite friendly.  In the instance I was mentioning I did end up just having to leave. ;

*nod nod*  That sounds like an interesting (and tense) situation.  Very cool, and good to know which game.
