Discovered some funky fun brushes and took it out on the cast and crew of Honour Amongst Thieves. Still struggling and maybe one day I'll understand tonal value.

Happy. Indifferent. Rage!
All the emotions!
All the emotions!
I love these three! The portraits are stunning. I love how each of their personalities is reflected with both expression and posing. Very well done!
oh jeez, red eyes... EVERYBODY!! CLEAR A PATH!! SANTIAGO'S TICKED!
Santiago has orange eyes!
The lighting and skin of Santiago are my favorite. I don't know why, I just think the colors play nicely. Also the lips on Louis. I love these I hope you keep delving into more digital art!
Well now, this looks amazing. James looks as British as he could get, Santiago seems as if he would be throwing a fit for some of his Spanish brethren and Louis? Well he just looks fabulouuuuuuuuuus~!
Santiago looks like he is possessed. just something I thought was interesting. my favorite though is James. very well done as usual!
YOU'RE NOT DEAD!!!!!! Welcome back to the art!
Whee! You're back! I've missed your updates!
Why is Louis' heart up side down?
It's always been upside-down, a small hint towards his willingness to put on a brave face and be happy for others, when in fact a part of him always feels remorseful that he will never be fully accepted in society for what he is. So it's a heart mimicking the shape of a tear.
Damn, that is really great! Thanks for the eyecandy.
he's gorgeous!! XD
How's the research going?
I cannot get over Louis' hair. It's....BEAUTIFUL!!!!
for some reason i imagine the guy to the left with a voice like clopin from the hunchback of notredame, the one to the right would sound like fenris from dragon age and the one on the center would most for sure sound like cortez from road to el dorado...
nah, i'm sure this would not turn into a cartoon/movie anytime soon, that would be a lot of money, oh well, i can still enjoy their adventures on deviantart.
They are actually characters for her animation assignment and she's in the final stages of finishing it up. look up her YouTube if you wanna hear the voice actors I'd send ya a link but my phone isn't letting me but shes "Canadianrainwater" on YouTube
these look great!! then again, everything your doing for Honour Amongst Thieves has been wonderful.
hmm, the blondie reminds me of Jack from Beybladw tih all that makeup
looks pretty good
Any one else think it looks like Santiago is going to headbutt the screen?
where's Louis hat? D8
Wonder when your animation would be ready?
It's in progress. Between a full-time job, an illustration collaboration for a children's book, and animating HAT when I have the time, it's slow going.
Damnit Santiago. Dont you have any facial expression that doesnt make you 'Aaaaaaaaaaarghs!' ? xD
This is AWESOME!
I saw this in my news feed and died a little bit! these looked so good small and so much BETTER bigger!!
ALL MY LOVE FOR YOUR ART WORK
Told you so~
Well nicely done!! I can't even do that!!
These are different, but really good. You should definitely do this more often, you're good at it.
♥ awesome ♥ love your art
They're so cool ;A;; ) Louis is so handsome with that expression <3
These have a very different visual presence! They're still quite obviously the characters, but the different technique makes them feel a lot more settled and rich. The line-driven cartoons have a vibrant, larger-than-life quality and motion to them, while these feel softer and more subtle but no less interesting. I'm trying to come up with a metaphor for the difference in mood and drawing a blank, but for example I think I could see this approach as cover art for your graphic novel, while the inside I would still see more as the line art.
That's a very interesting analogy, perhaps I'll consider that if and when I finally get around to working on the graphic novel. In all of my briefs with people who work in the games and movie industry, I consistently receive the same feedback that while I am good at cartooning and draw quickly, I have a very set style, and need to diversify more. So between work, commissions, and finishing my animation, I am now also trying to practice digital painting when I can.
