WARNING: OLD ART!! The art and comments in this Deviation may no longer represent the artist's current views or interests.

Submitted as part of homework for LASALLE College of the Arts, don't you dare get the illusion that I have any sort of spare time at the moment. Inspired by a coat I got as a quest reward for Pirates of the Burning Sea's third year anniversary.

If you need some french swears for the future:

"Forbans!"
"Bois-sans-soif!"
"Mille tonnerres!"
Once more, it is amazing :D

Best Frollo expression ever.

I'd love to see the aftermath of this party... and what Clopin talked Frollo into.

Your drawing style, just, so much love. The smirks!

Is it normal that you're allowed to do fan art for homework at art school? I'm just wondering compared to the writing equivalent...

For drawing class we're studying character designs, gestures, and proportions and are required to submit five A4 sketches of anything we want - so long as it pertains to the requirements - each week. So yes, I am allowed to do fan art because it's within the rules. Next year - second and third year of animation - I'll be doing my own videos so it will have to be my own stuff, but for first year we're just learning the ropes.

I see. Thanks for the info! That's very different from the attitude toward fan fiction.

That it has no place in an academic, 'serious' setting.

Well that I can understand. I'm going to an Art College - apart from my theory/essay-writing class there's no "academia" anymore. I'm studying all the skills I'll need to help me try and find work in the animation industry, and in first year it's about being as broad with your options and trying everything as you can. If I can show I understand proportion and expression with someone else's character then there's nothing wrong with what I'm doing. In second and third year I'll be required to create stories myself and my own characters with it.

When I was in High School it was the same - no fan-fiction, and in fact we rarely wrote stories at all. Always essays, though I wrote to the side sometimes and let my teacher read them (original stories, not fics).

First time I ever heard that song (or atleast part of it) was Muppet Treasure Island.

Sung by Tim Curry as Long John Silver.

wait i get it. Clopin has to go to this fancy party, because he and the Commodore have to work together on something as you just said, and Clopin has to wear his best suit and go allone and yada-yada-yada, while his crew stayes back and parties like there's no Maniana! ~no morning... maniana means morning in Spanish~
am i correct?

Oh, Clopin! Methinks one despises his boss to the point of gunpoint?

Hmm, French swear words, eh?

Merde=Shit
Salope/Salop=Bitch
Con=Ass
Putain/Pute=Whore (often used as "fuck," I believe)

There's more on this page:[link]

French swears ? What kind of swears do you like ? Classics like "merde" and "vos gueules" ? Very strong words like "putain" ? I'm sure you have a large choice of curses to put in here ...
