This time, she managed to cover Karcen’s ears before Laz’ab’s outburst, scowling over her son’s head.

“Stop. Why are you even here?”

“I came to kill you for running away with all those little secrets of yours,” Laz’ab mused, casting his glance down at the boy with a frown. “I think I may have changed my mind though.” Caspira lifted her hands away from her son’s ears and dropped her fingers to the vibroblade still at her side. Red eyes tracked her every move and Laz’ab let out a sharp snort. “I have changed my mind you know.” Something in his voice shifted. “Can’t send a boy orphaned and out into the world.”

True that , but i assume Laz has spies all around the Galaxy aswell . On the other hand , Caspira being an Imperial Agent , she must know some places where to hide out of reach of the Sith ...

Laz'ab doesn't spy, it's not his game. He has high security at home and enough eyes and ears that if someone's coming after him he'll hear about it first, but he's not in the business of tracking them down himself. They're more for security. The subjects he interrogates are usually brought to him, not the other way around, and his research involves bioweapons not information. If Caspira wanted to slip his noose she probably could.

On some pics , you made it sound like Laz was the kind of nuts Sith to have ears everywhere , it's actually quite interresting to learn that he doesn't care much for what's happening " far away " , unless , as you mentioned , someone's coming after him .
Gosh , i absolutely adore not only your art , but also the whole character development that goes along with it :)

As long as he has some kind of early warning he usually doesn't care beyond that. His power base was inherited from his nuts Master, the same one who tortured and twisted him until he murdered her, so he avoided it for several years during which point he was completely on his own. No spies or network, so it's not something he feels he absolutely needs.

Thanks very much. He was a departure from my usual characters and I had no idea what to do with him at first. I'm glad some people enjoy his shenanigans so far.

Can't blame Laz for that , Koma was a pretty messed up sick f*ck twisted woman , it's only natural he didn't wanted to use or have anything to do with hild old Master's stuff ...

You're welcome :)
The amazing thing is that , with your SWTOR characters and shenanigans , you sort of built a tiny universe of your own where all of them relates together , along a few other people's OCs within the bigger universe that is TOR . And well , as i mentioned , you spent quite some time developing every one of them , so they aren't quite like all the regular shallow and clichés OCs you can find all over the internet , they really stand out :D

Can I just say thank you for creating a sith character who is an actual psychopath and having the guts to stick with it? AUs often allow me to toy with aspects of my own SWTOR characters from time to time, so this was a LOT of fun to know I'm not alone.

HE HAS A SOUL AND NOW YOU'VE SEEN IT AND YES! . . . Atleast that's what I would say. I dunno, I guess I'm kind of a mush.

Although the last line seems a little out of character. Too much emotion at once. I'm overwhelmed. D8

Mm ... I actually almost didn't give him Dark Side corruption on account of I liked the purple, but in the end the pale gross veiny look won out. It just suits him 100x better and fits so well canonically.

Excuse my impertinence but here's how I see this one ending...

Something in his voice shifted. “Can’t send a boy orphaned and out into the world.”

He activated his lightsaber. "I'm just going to have to kill you both."

...I'll go now :stupidme:

Though this was inspired by a hypothetical situation, the concept that Laz'ab would have a conscience is quite interesting. I've been playing around with the idea for my SWTOR Sith character. When playing or writing about mentally unstable characters, not having experienced that kind of instability personally (I'm assuming you're not psychotic), it's hard to really understand that lack of empathy. But I thoroughly enjoy your interpretation and seeing how you handle your own characters inspires me to get more into the head of my own. Wonderful job on the illustration. You are absolutely one of my favorite artists Sak!

I've done plenty of research into known psychotic serial killers and psychopathy for Laz'ab, and because I am capable of empathy I find I can imagine well enough what it might be like in his shoes. Essentially if a moral decision would make you or I cringe and recoil, chances are he wouldn't flinch and would just go ahead with his plans.

Aaaahhhh, just when I was getting over my obsession with this character...

:iconcannotevenplz: The FEEEELS!!!

This comic is actually a bit disappointing for me, oddly enough. Most people would find it cute that his past would trigger a merciful side, if only for the moment. Having a fellow Sith in the game, this would have been seen as a sign of weakness. Still, it's interesting that he still even has a tiny fraction of his conscience left. That just means he hasn't gone completely off the deep end despite everything he's done.

:iconufufuplz: He's such an interesting character!

As I mentioned earlier, this is one amazing comic. The little shift in style gives it an extra bit of oomph and you've always been amazing at setting the atmosphere for your pictures and comics. Such an awesome surprise too, I always get giddy when stuff dealing with my characters or writing pops up :D I also feel fantastically accomplished when I manage to nail other people's characters well. This whole comic is a little more heartbreaking than the writing though - little-boy Laz'ab is just such a sad sight, makes you mourn the loss of what the poor kid could have become in better circumstances, and that last panel is... well, it seems like he could quite easily go either way from there. Either walk away like in the story, or just break out the saber and lightning and solve his little killer's impulse right there. Honestly, his unpredictability is such a sure thing that it's all whim.

Would he give in to that moment where the voices were quiet and decide to let them go because Caspira is clearly not a threat any longer?

Or would mother and son unfortunately end up going the way of all of Laz's victims? Because we all know it doesn't matter if one of his victims is a child.

...ohgaaawd don't make me think of writing a bad ending that would just be the pits!

On the flipside, if things in the past hadn't happened - ie: Darth Cyra losing her Force sensitivity - then she wouldn't ever have the change to be sympathetic to others, either, because she's still be a heartless b**ch! \o/

Ugh, still need to write my version of the alternate end ...
